Levy, however, is pleasantly surprised:

"The ride from the station up the hill to the main entrance was over before I knew it. I was ushered in and instead of cold forboding [sic] walls, was amazed at the warm reception by a doctor. The interior itself looked more like a sumptious [sic] spacious comfortable lodge than a hospital as there was nothing to indicate the latter, even to the pungent smell of drugs or ether."
